Dominico Francisco Paul Henricus (Faron) was born on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba and later served as a military officer based in the Netherlands. Around his 60th birthday he introspects, “I have so many dreams, I’ve been to so many places, and I want to know, whose footsteps I must follow?”

Donning a costume depicting pharaoh Ramses II, Faron strolls in the Giza Necropolis, climbs Mount Sinai, and sails the Nile to the Valley of the Kings in Luxor. Set against the backdrop of a country in post-revolution, wherein tourism has crumbled, he mounts a camel, leaving tracks of his own in the sand.
